That is a chat system (chat server and chat client).
This chat is in the JAVAtm (min.  - JDK 1.1.3 ) written
The Chat Server is supposed to be started and hears  on same port.
Possibilities of the Chat system.
The Client permits the Users color writing and Sound to change .
Public messages may be logged .
The User has following possibilities.
To start the chat server write this on your telnet ot shell window:

<shell>java ChatServer &
<shell>logout      - only for UNIX OS systems
